The VA Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network or VISN 6 delivers routine and specialized healthcare services to veterans throughout North Carolina, Virginia, and portions of West Virginia and South Carolina. The VISN office is located in Durham, North Carolina. VISN 6 encompasses eight major VA medical centers, three of which are located in Virginia. The Hampton hospital is convenient to Hampton Roads communities. Richmond and Salem both claim major Veterans Affairs hospitals as well.
