Central Carolina Community College offers two campus centers in Chatham County, one in Pittsboro and one in Siler City. Pittsboro is home to the CCCC’s unique sustainable framing program as well as a number of curriculum programs, a small business center, and a day care facility. SAGE in Siler City offers an alternative technical skills facility, and the Henry B. Siler School houses classrooms for credit and non-credit courses. The college serves Harnett and Lee counties, each campus or center adding general and specialized resources. The Harnett Campus in Lillington features a variety of high tech, public service, health, industrial, and engineering programs as well as university transfer degrees. Triton High School in Erwin is the broadcasting center for a radio station that is operated by CCCC, while Dunn is home to the Dunn School of Cosmetology and the Triangle South Enterprise Center. The main Lee campus houses the college administration and is home to several regionally exclusive programs. The North Carolina School of Telecommunications is a unique instructional program with a new state-of-the-art home in the county’s industrial park. Lee County is also home to CCCC’s Emergency Services Training Center. The Raleigh-Durham region is rich in institutions of higher education, including three nationally and internationally recognized doctoral research universities: Duke University in Durham, North Carolina State University in Raleigh, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Quality healthcare services are close to home, anchored by Chatham Hospital, providing emergency services to more than 1,000 patients each month in a newly renovated 5,500-square-foot Emergency Room. The hospital is celebrating its arrival in an all-new facility in Siler City’s Central Carolina Business Campus, conveniently close to the intersection of US Highways 64 and 421. The hospital provides a wide variety of specialty services and centers, including Cardiac Rehabilitation, a customized program of exercise and education designed to strengthen the heart and vascular system and develop a healthy lifestyle. The Sleep Lab does remarkable work in diagnosing sleeping disorders. Outpatient services are well-developed and provide convenient laboratory, imaging, and treatment options for residents throughout the county. Nearby, Durham holds the reputation of being City of Medicine, USA. The hospitals at the heart of that title are Duke University Hospital & Medical Center, Duke Children’s Hospital & McGovern-Davison Health Center, Durham Regional Hospital, Durham Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital, and North Carolina Eye & Ear Hospital.

Historic Pittsboro was originally founded in 1787 and serves as the seat of government for Chatham County.
