Burt’s Pumpkin Farm is a regional attraction, inviting families to enjoy a sea of pumpkins and holiday magic with the Appalachian Lights. The Kangaroo Conservation Center is the largest collection of these fascinating animals outside Australia. Although a small city by most standards, Dawsonville serves as the center of government, education, healthcare, and culture for Dawson County residents. Recently assuming the identity of a college town, the city is now home to Southern Catholic College, the first Catholic college in Georgia. Residents enjoy an 18-hole golf course, more than 140 factory outlet shops at a booming retail center, and one of the nation’s most unique wildlife preserves. The Kangaroo Conservation Center invites visitors to learn about kangaroo biology and husbandry as they view animals in the Outback on this 87-acre preserve nestled in the picturesque Southern Appalachian Mountains.
