Centrally located along the “Golden Crescent” between Washington, D.C. and Hampton Roads, the Richmond/Petersburg Metropolitan Statistical Area is home to nearly one million people. The region encompasses a collection of counties and communities to support every imaginable lifestyle. At the heart of this population center lies the City of Richmond, first sighted as a prime location for development in 1607 when English explorers discovered the rapids of the James River. Just a few years later, the City of Petersburg had its genesis about 25 miles to the south adjacent to the James and Appomattox Rivers.

A variety of beautiful subdivisions and prestigious residential developments are springing up throughout the countryside, graced by rolling hills and plenty of land for generous acreage. Just 25 miles to the south, the Tri-City area of Petersburg, Colonial Heights and Hopewell offers a small-town atmosphere within an easy drive of Richmond’s world-class amenities. On many levels, Greater Richmond is shifting into a whole new dimension of excellence.
